Murals bring massive street art to New Rochelle for years to come

Art activists are hoping a string of massive street murals unveiled this weekend will be the conversation starter on a number of topics.

Members of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) and Street Art for Mankind hope by this weekend, everyone in downtown will be talking about the eight new murals that’ll be on display in the city for at least two years.

“It’s not always everybody’s taste,” NRCA president Theresa Leghorn said of street art. “There are going to be people that like some of it and don’t like other parts of it, but it gets you talking, it creates something to talk about it.”
