About NRCA

About  NRCA
The New Rochelle Council on the Arts was created in 1975 by the New Rochelle City Council. NRCA is a 501(c)(3) organization. In 2005 it became an independant organization whose Mission is:

To stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts and the public's interest and participation therein.

To foster and support arts in the community and to serve as a portal to the arts for New Rochelle residents and community members.

To create opportunities for the public to encounter and explore art and increase access to the arts in New Rochelle.

The members of the Board of Directors  of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts are comprised of individuals who are interested in the arts and culture of New Rochelle.  As an outgrowth of their Mission, the Council created the first written Directory of New Rochelle Artists, Writers, Musicians & Performers. The Directory commemorated the 30th anniversary of the  creation of NRCA.

In 2007, NRCA initiated a "membership" component  to the organization which provides an opportunity for dialogue and collaboration.  In this spirit, NRCA has continued to support, present and applaud the achievement of the City's arts community.
