ArtsFest was created in 2009. ArtsWestchester had initiated a county-wide celebration of ceramics, “All Fired Up,” in 2008, and NRCA had responded by organizing “Clay Fest.” The success of that event encouraged NRCA to continue with an annual ArtsFest.
ArtsFest is made possible, in part, by funding from the Gwendolen Appleyard Trust Fund for New Rochelle Charities, ArtsWestchester and Charles Fazzino, along with sponsorships from a variety of local businesses. In 2018 those include Montefiore NR, RXR, Watermark Pointe, New Rochelle Radiology, AJ’s Burgers, Alvin & Friends Restaurant, Gallery Roc, Hurley’s Steakhouse and Pub, Ottavio’s Woodworking, Tailgate Dogs and Sausages.
The ArtsFest steering committee begins meeting in May to plan each year’s events.
